thredUP used clothing challenge: outfit #5

Jul 19, 2013

& this is ThredUP outfit #5.
If you've been following along since Monday, you know all about the awesomeness that is ThredUP and the used clothing challenge I took on with them this week. If not, you can get caught up here, here, here & here. This one may be my favorite outfit of all. I am pretty wary of mixing prints- as in, I never do it because I am too afraid I might mix the wrong prints together. I decided to go big or go home for my last challenge outfit though...and I like it!
I was on the way out the door for coffee with my dear friend (who is about to have her sweet little baby, btw...had to catch her before!). Long chats with her are always enjoyable- and we didn't want to stop this time even though we were both yawning every 5 sec. and it was wayyy past bedtime. Yeh. The best kind of coffee date!
Now, let me have an honest moment with all of you...
I did not actually wear these shoes...not to coffee here in Charlotte, NC.
I slipped into a pair of silver, flat sandals before I left. ha-ha.
Just being honest!

ThredUP outfit #4 is here!

Last night we went to this homemade ice cream parlor about 5 min. from our house...delish does not even begin to describe how good it was (it was Moo & I's first time).
Mads got covered...and I do mean covered...in ceam ceam. At first I tried to clean-up as she went, but then ended up giving up on her. She was too far gone. ;)
Oh yum.

Here is my ThredUP outfit #3!

This was right after Moo locked herself in her room (for the 3rd time...I don't learn, apparently). She was crying on one side of the door, me on the other...it was a lovely scene. ha. DaDa came to the rescue (for the 2nd time). After that we decided it was about time to go and get anti-lock knobby things. They didn't have the ones we needed, so now I have resorted to covering our door locks with blue tape. Classy
Oh, toddler times. Always keeps things lively :).

thredUP used clothing challenge | outfit #2

Jul 16, 2013

Okeee...so here is my thredUP outfit #2.
If you caught my post yesterday, you know all about the awesomeness that is thredUP and the used clothing challenge I have taken on with them this week.
We had a real adventure this past Sunday- Hillbilly Produce Market and a car wash (vacuuming included). It was a party. No, but really...it's funny how as you get older and older it's the simplest of things that make you the happiest. We love discovering new places and had never been to this market before, so it ended up being a fun little time....we found glorious peaches too (about to eat one now, actually. yum). Of course, Moo found a puddle and got her splashes in. ;)
I'll be back tomorrow with thredUP outfit #3!

ThredUP used clothing challenge | Outfit #1

Jul 15, 2013

Our normal Sunday routine: church & then Target for Starbucks and wandering around, finding things we hadn't planned on buying at all. I practically ran for one of their soft pretzels (have been craving for a month now. dangerous that I know where to find them now) and then followed it up with a decaf mocha over ice. Mmmmm. It was pregs heaven. Mads was in a bit of a mood...you can see her slow progression into a full blown tantrum in the pictures. ;)
Now, let's get to the good stuff, friends...
I took on a used clothing challenge with thredUP - I'll only be wearing clothing I found on thredUP for this entire week and will be sharing it all here. It's proving to really not be a challenge at all though, to be perfectly honest. Their items are all used, but consignment quality...practically brand new. I have been an avid thrift and consignment shopper since I was mmmm 10. My fam, all 8 of us, used to make a trip to the best thrift shop around about once a year. We would search out the best items, for hours and then excitedly bring our finds to my parents for the yay or nay.
We always left with bundles of wonderful, maybe having spent a total of $100 (on all 8 of us).
It was a fun time and we learned a very important lesson...used clothing is awwwwesome
I still completely believe that and frequent Goodwill and the consignment shops around here. Yes, of course I love J.Crew, Gap, Banana and the likes, but if I can find them used (in great shape) elsewhere...I am so there.
ThredUP is obviously right up my alley. True fan right here!
Btw, you can also sell your own like-new clothing to them.
You can see all the info on how it works here
I'll be back tomorrow with outfit #2!
