DIY & design: wooden bead watch band

Jul 4, 2012

Happy 4th, lovies!
Drink, please.

Anyways,
I recently discovered these WeWOOD watches...

Very cool, right?
So...
I thought... & thought some more.
I wanted to copy it.
Kind of- minus the entire thing being made of wood and being totally awesome...yada yada.

My version is slightly less hardcore, but I think it turned out well. Maybe?

the supplies:

watch face (found at Goodwill- I just took off the original band)
flat wooden beads w/ holes for stringing (found at jewelrysupply.com)
thin elastic band (even better if you find clear elastic band. I wish I had been able to!)
needle + thread

the steps

1. sew the elastic band onto one side of the watch face
2. sew the flat wooden beads onto the elastic (make sure they are sewed on as tight as possible)
3. attach the other end of the elastic to the other side of the watch face

& you're done.
HA.
Yeh, I didn't say this was a crazy easy DIY.
It is worth all of the sewing though!!

I'll let you know when I figure out how to carve wood into a watch...

Said no Camille ever.

ps. here is the watch band w/ green elastic instead. Try using a colorful elastic! I think I should have done this to begin with. Ohhh well.

Yeh.
