The night was grand, my friends.

It was full of people watching, design judging and photo opps.

Going as press made it super cool too...seats in the 2nd row! woop woop!

I was joined by my loverly friends Kallah & Alyson (photog I have been collaborating w/).

Without them the night would have been severely lacking. 

Fo sho.

We kept ourselves very busy judging and commenting on the designs. I mean, we had to...we were press ;).

Kallah & I also had a glass of wine which got us sufficiently giggly. Mommy light weights.

It actually led to this impromptu post-show parking garage vid...

I'm not sure why I am sharing this with you.

 I guess its a little look at the real me (or the real Kallah actually)...after one glass of wine.

You want to be our friends now, don't you?

I need to mention that even though our little profesh vid makes it seem as the whole thing was a design flop, there were two designers that were spot on- one being my fave, Carson & Co.

The fit, patterns and all around look of their collections were fresh and very wearable.

Charlotte, NC isn't exactly the fashion capitol of the world, so it was exciting to see designs that I would not be surprised at all to see in NYC.

I am so glad I attended. I almost changed my mind about going (10 bajillion times)

hometown visit Re-visited.

MD was, in a word, amazing.

I always think trips like this will be super stressful and exhausting.

I am kind of bad with the whole pessimistic attitude thing.

Well, it wasn't at all.

It was delightful in every possible way!

I drank coffee (too much as usual) and chai tea lattes, read books (wow), had eager babysitters 24/7, had a happy baby that was thrilled to be entertained at all times & last but not least, MUSIC and laughter.

My fam is pretty good at those last two.

Now back to the daily grind. 

I am totally cool with it.

I have tons on my 'to-do' list- including working on le Pompon, cleaning up this blog a bit and housework.

After another coffee, of course...

a 5 second beach trip.

I haven't been to the beach all summer. Moo hasn't ever been.

I know, a crime.

I got my fam to agree to a day beach trip to Bethany Beach, DE.
Best idea. Ever. Right?

We all piled into our cars at 8 am yesterday morning...

well, it was quite the adventure.

To sum it up:

we didn't get there until 2:30 (our GPS psycho lady took us some back woods way...& we had to listen to her)

It was cloudy when we arrived...which I was cool with until...

after being on the beach for 1 hour it started to rain...the cold kind...

We were chilly. & wet.

All in all, I have to say that the 9 hours in the car was worth it just to see my baby Moo happily stomping in the ocean as the little waves crashed on her little feet.

She kept yelling "la laa! la LA!" (Moo language: water).

If she had had her way, we would have withstood the cold rain and played in the "la la" all day and night.

I would do it all again.

(w/ a raincoat, shots of espresso and a mentally stable GPS)

I am in love already.

I was a tad bit nervous on my way there, because I was running the shop that day (my very first day working there. Ever).

The decor is simply darling. I could sit there all day (or for all of my shift anyways).

The accessory display is lovely, right? Look at the scarves on the mannequin!

When it got veryyy slow I started trying to get artsy w/ instagram. Product: a reflection of the back of my head. So artsy.

Florida vacay, by Instagram.

Here's a tiny  peek into our trip...

It hasn't been as relaxing as I had built it up to be (running around a lot for grad events) , but we are still enjoying ourselves immensely.

I got to lay out today for the first time in way over a year (Moo was being entertained elsewhereby one of her many aunties).

It was...amazing (& weird. I felt like I should have been doing something constructive. ha-ha).

Now, my fam is all about music.
It has bonded us all together in such a wonderful way.
Naturally, we make music happen everywhere (even in FL;)

I shall continue this little vacation in the only way that makes sense...

by stuffing my face with calorie ridden food.
