Styling Old Navy's Ponte Fit & Flare Dress - Up, Down, All Around -

Apr 23, 2014

Dressed up
The flirty flare of this dress is perfect for a date night.
Date night? What's that? Ha.
It's easy to style too...which is always a win for me.
I kind of stress over accessories- which actually work for what, etc.
The neckline on this dress means you can skip the necklace and just pop on some statement earrings.
I also threw on some simple bangles and grabbed a clutch.
A clutch? What's that? Haaa.

Can you tell it's been quite a while since I've been out with my husband? :-D

Dressed down
Grocery store, park, play date or weekend outfit - this dress works for all.
It has an amazing way of hiding that pooch too...
which I very much still have.
(I just started T25, but that's another story for another day. My body hurts ::hehh::)
The dress flares out riiiiight at the perfect spot.
Grab a hat, huuuuge bag (to tote all that your toddler insists on stuffing in it) and you're good to go.

Dressed for all around
So I threw this little ensemble on at the last minute and...my gosh.
I love it.
Mixing the feminine with the comfy and you've got a winning combo.
Am I right, mamas?
I'm ready to run around and get things done with babe on hip and toddler in tow.
BAM.

dress | shoes | canvas tote

Now, I wouldn't expect this dress to last for more than one or two seasons.
It's $15 and from Old Navy.
However, it's trendy and if you're looking to spend little...
this is the dress for you.

the 5 basic essentials to have in your closet for Spring

Mar 25, 2014

1.
Blazer
- via Two Penny Blue -
I love a blazer. I've been wearing them religiously since high school.
In fact, I'll probably still be sporting them as a grannie.
They just take an outfit to the next level...give it that classy, structured look.
So...you're wearing some boyfriend jeans and a plain tee. Cute, but with a blazer?
Ba-da-boom

2.
Lightweight Scarf
- via deloom -
It's the perfect accent to a Spring outfit.
Adds color. Adds something different. It can even take an outfit in a different direction...
They are especially necessary if you are not really an accessory wearer.
Find one with a colorful or interesting pattern and you're golden.

3.
Classic White Button-up
- via Old Navy -
Always a good idea to have one of these. Always.
Not only can you can wear it with most anything (skirts, shorts, jeans, even layered under a dress- did ya catch J. Rob at the Oscars?),
it is also a great layering tool if the weather is on the cooler side (think cardigan or jacket over top).
I personally like to go the minimalist route and simply pair it with denim and a pair of flats or pumps.

4.
Skirt
- via Corilynn -
Whether it's a full skirt like the one above, midi, pencil or maxi...
something so feminine and flattering will be a well-loved Spring basic.
Dress it up, dress it down...take it downtowwnnn.
*Finding the right style and fit for your body type is very important for this one. See this post.

5.
Flats
- via Yellow Box Shoes -
Do not underestimate the value of a simple, yet versatile flat.
What I like about the pair above is that they have the cut-out detail on the sides..
makes them a bit more breathable for the warmer temps.
Again, this is a basic that can be worn with most anything...always nice.

While you can go ahead and wear them all together,
these Spring basics can actually help make the rest of your wardrobe go further.
You'll be surprised with how much  a simple, basic clothing item can inspire you - it's like having a blank canvas to paint on.
Build on it, pair something spicy with it, layer, mix it up...make those basics not so basic, yo!

Okay, so I do have to mention a  couple additional basics that I really appreciate...and know you can too - a trench and wellies (or rain-boots...I prefer using Brit terminology as often as possible b/c it's fun ::heh heh:: )
Joules has great ones, fyi. Pretty and affordable.
They add a bit of sass and class to an outfit and transition very well between seasons...especially with the Spring weather being a bit unpredictable at the moment.
NC is drunk right now with it's low 50s in March. It needs to go home- ha.
I know, I know...some of you want slap me because of my complaints about weather above 40.

I've made it easy for you to find the basics (below). Maybe you'll find something you love or it'll remind you of that long lost basic that's collecting dust in the back of your closet. Break it out. Now is the time. Spring is here!....kind of. Sort of. Whatever. Do it anyways. :)

Maternity Outfits for Christmas

Dec 19, 2013

Just so happening to be looking for a stylish maternity outfit for Christmas? I've personally been feeling stumped as to what I'm going to wear *blah* - trying desperately to put together something from what I already have in my closet. I have been unsuccessful so far, but after seeing these outfits...I may just have an idea or two...

Layers via. - layering non-maternity sweaters, shirts, jackets and coats help to keep you cozy and also give you that perfectly layered look. The plaid and sparkly clutch make it totally Christmas-worthy.

Buffalo plaid via. - gotta love this winter-y mix...and actually...here is another one of her lovely maternity outfits...perfect for a holiday party!

Long cardigan over dress via. - that green hat adds the perfect holiday touch. ps. I have a crush on this girl's maternity style.

Plaid dress with leather jacket via. - just cute. That belt with the plaid.

Sparkly pants via. - because who doesn't love sparkly pants this season?...and just because your pregnant doesn't mean you shouldn't be able to wear them!

Lace dress via. - hawtttt. Great look for a Christmas party. I might go for some warmer footwear though...

Winter whites via. - my other maternity style crush. Put together all of your whites and creams...throw a little tan in and you'll have your outfit. Maybe even consider adding some gold or sparkle (clutch, shoes, or accessories?).

Stripes & large red scarf  via. - cozy and chic. I like how the red checked scarf took the stripes and black coat to the next level so simply.

I'm now thinking I need to break-out the glittery belt and possibly some plaid...maybe go semi-crazy with layering. Hmmmm. How about you? Any ideas?

Maternity Outfits for Thanksgiving

Nov 22, 2013

1 | 2| 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 | 7 | 8

In addition to the Simple Thanksgiving Outfit Ideas post, I've got these maternity outfits for all of you expectant mamas. Can't forget the pregnant ladies!

Cozy kimono or sweater: You all may know about my love for a kimono by now (see exhibit A & B)...and this sweater reminds me of one. It's cozy, awesomely patterned and just says 'Fall'. They also seem to be made for a bump- you don't have to worry too much about the fit, b/c it will just wrap right around that bump. Not to mention, if Sydney wore it...it's usually a safe bet. [shop this outfit: tribal print cardigan or tassel hem cardigan]

Boyfriend cardigan: Who doesn't love a cardigan? Make it a slightly bigger, comfier version and...sold. Add a feminine touch, like a furry scarf, and you've got a great Thanksgiving outfit. [shop this outfit: boyfriend cardigan / faux-fur infinity scarf

Cable knit sweater: it's cozy and forgiving...'nuff said. [shop this outfit: asos cable knit sweater / hush puppies moorland ankle bootie

Maxi skirt (winterized): love how a maxi skirt can be styled for cooler weather- with a jacket, scarf, long-sleeve shirt, booties, etc. Maxis are usually terribly comfy as well, so it's a win win for a mama-to-be. [shop this outfit: PinkBlush maternity maxi skirt / roll sleeve black blazer]

Simple cotton dress: the colors in this outfit are perfect for Thanksgiving! Depending on where you live, you may want to add extra layers- long jacket and tights? [shop this outfit: cotton maternity dress / maternity midi dress]

Cuffed denim & jacket: I have recently realized the importance of having a comfortable pair of maternity jeans that fit well- it's so important. When you feel comfortable in the basics you'll be able to be more inventive when it comes to the rest of the outfit...at least I do! The mama above threw on a pair of cuffed maternity jeans with a striped top, cropped trench and phenomenal booties. Simple, yet she looks soooo good...all ready for a Thanksgiving din din. [shop this outfit: J.Brand Kinetic Mama jean / striped boyfriend tee / cropped trench / Seychelles booties

Leather/coated jeggings: the leather look is here to stay...and mamas-to-be are definitely not being left out. Go ahead! Edge it up this Thanksgiving. [shop this outfit: coated jeggings / maternity hoodie

Tunic top: I mean, it all just looks terribly comfy- loose-fitting top, stretchy bottoms & booties. Done. [shop this outfit: Elerby Top / Essential Treggings ]

& that's that, friends. My decaf coffee is calling my name...and possibly a brownie my wonderful husband brought home for me...

Simple Thanksgiving Outfit Ideas

Nov 14, 2013

outfits via: 1|2|3|4|5|6|7|8

It's almost time to stuff our faces. Heck yes! Gotta love Thanksgiving for many reasons- family, the food, the lounging around, the food...and the fooooood. I also just love having an excuse to put together a cozy n' extra cute outfit. Not going to lie. So. Are you thinking cozy or dressy this Thanksgiving? Either way, hopefully this little guide will give you some ideas.

1. Cozy: throw on a long sweater with distressed denim, troopa boots (or any short boot really) and a cozy scarf.

2. Wrapped up: if you've got a large scarf, use it as a shawl and wrap it over a simple, black ensemble. You'll look and feel cozy. Not to mention, you can hide that turkey belly. ;)

3. Skirtage: This has to be one of the cutest looks. Ever. via. Simple too! Have a longer skirt? Pair it with a pull-over sweater, tights and pumps. Done.

4. Boho: This is one of my favorite looks- a maxi skirt, thermal top, furry vest and hat. It's just sooo anthro. mixed with a bit of Free People.. mixed with awesomeness. Depending on where you live, you may want to put on a pair of tights underneath that skirt...along with some flat booties.

5. City slick: You can't go wrong with this look. Really. A trench, button-up with simple sweater over top, dark denim and flats. It's simple, yet super classy. You're done.

6. Dressy Layers: Too much cute. I really reeeally want to copy this outfit on Thanksgiving. Mine will just be the maternity version ;). This is a great way to utilize that little Summer dress you thought you wouldn't see until next year- layer a big, chunky, cozy sweater over it and then finish it all off with thick tights, tall boots and a scarf. Perfect.

7. Over-alls: ANMJ always pulls off looks that you'd never imagine could work, but then...she does it...and you're all like, "Oooooo that looks so good. I'm doing it". Yep. The cozy over-all outfit is one example. The flannel underneath, tan booties and jacket over top it all? Come on, S. You kill me. ps. you could wear a long, chunky cardigan in place of the blazer to make it a bit cozier.

8. Tailored: a crisp, classy look is never a bad idea. Neither is a simple black and white ensemble. Just pick out one of your more dressy tops and tailored pants/skirts. You could even do a colorful pump if you're feeling adventurous. OoOoo.

I hope this helped you out a bit when it comes to putting together that Thanksgiving outfit! My brain is turning into mush (can ya tell?)...as it is 10:35 pm and I have been up since 4:30 am (pregnancy insomnia- yayyy), so I am going to leave you now. I won't be making any sense at all in a few seconds....

...aaaaaand...end scene.

Style Sessions | Plaid with Kilee

Oct 30, 2013

Hey Life in Mod readers, I'm Kilee from ONE little MOMMA. I’m excited to be visiting  and hanging with Cam's great style. Over at OLM I blog about style- (especially momma style), easy DIY projects and my family. I love trends and like to think that keeping up with the best of them is my thang. A trend this Fall, which I was rocking back in junior high, is the plaid skirt. When I told my husband I was going to be styling plaid in a few ways he said, "You mean like Grandma, Great Grandma..." Ha ha ha. Yes- these skirts may have actually come from someone's grandma, but they can be styled to be fresh and current for today.

Top: Old Navy
Skirt: Thrifted
Shoes: Old Navy

The best place to find a great plaid skirt right now honestly is your local Goodwill or Savers. The past generation has thrown them out and into our welcoming arms. I fell in love this this navy, burnt orange, and gray pleated midi skirt for only $5. It is made out of wool which is the perfect texture for Fall outfits. To style this skirt I added coordinating ankle boots and a light sweater in an almost matching color. Plaid is great because it usually has a few colors to pull from when you pick your sweater or your bag. I went with a simple top because the bottom is pretty busy and the ankle boots add a bit of a modern edge to the look.

Top: J Crew
Skirt: Thrifted
Shoes: Madewell
Bag: White Plum Boutique

Another way to style plaid is to pair it with your basic chambray shirt and coordinating color pop ballet flats. I left my shirt loosely tucked to keep from looking too buttoned up. A chambray shirt can really pair with any color plaid that you find. This plaid skirt had great colors to pull from and I pulled the bag color and shoe color from it.

A few other ways to style a plaid skirt might be pairing a basic striped tee in coordinating, but not necessarily matching colors for some pattern mixing. Nude heels and a white oxford would look fantastic as well with most skirts.

Thanks for having me! I hope you'll stop over to ONE little MOMMA to read about styling plaid flannel,  thrifting tips, and making your own denim vest!

color play | red + purple

Oct 3, 2013

I'm regularly referencing the Pantone colors of the season- helps me to put together outfits...and feel super stylish & on top of it all. Ha. ;) I loooooove this Fall color combo. Purple and red. Yes, yes & yes.

I have this dress which I am really hoping to pair with a pair of red pumps or clutch. Wouldn't that be loverly? I just need to go out and search for some real steals...Marshalls is currently calling my name. "Cams. Cooomme to Marshaaaalls...you shall find the red-ness that you neeeeeed". See?

If you'd like to become all hip & trendy too (like me)...head on over to my Pin board to see the latest Pantone colors.

Isabella Oliver | 1 maternity dress, 2 ways

Sep 30, 2013

Isabella Oliver ...an expectant mama's best friend? I say oh yes.

Their styles are spot-on, trendy and accentuate that bump in a way that makes it look like the best thing that has ever happened to your body. My Isabella Oliver ruched tank dress is one of my more prized maternity items. On that note, I was unsure about how to make it a more versatile piece- with it being so comfy and flattering, I wanted to be able to wear it many times...to all different kinds of places and occasions.

Sooo, ladies...I tackled "Project: Style Isabella Oliver's Ruched Tank Dress" this past weekend...and I came up with these 3 different outfits...

ruched tank dress-c/o Isabella Oliver | trench coat- Banana Republic (gift from an amazing friend that loves me. a lot), similar | studded skinny belt- Target, similar | leopard print flats- Steve Madden, similar

Refined: Oooh, trench. You're one of my materialistic loves. Ha. A classic trench does amazing things for an outfit in such a simple way. I threw mine over the ruched tank dress with a studded skinny belt (that I've had for ages, btw)...and finished off the whole look with leopard print flats. There are many different ways you can achieve this look...if you don't happen to have leopard print flats or a trench for that matter- go with a long cardigan or jacket and throw on a colorful &/or patterned pair of flats. Voila! You and the bump will be looking all kinds of refined and chic.

ruched tank dress- c/o Isabella Oliver | layered necklaces- up-cycled from old jewelry | biker jacket- c/o Wallis | booties- Macy's, similar

Edgy: I've always loved a bit of edge- from combat boots to studs to leather jackets...I'm sold. The key is making it all look feminine,...b/c I'm not sure looking like a hard core biker chick is a good idea. ;) It's a very simple task if you just pick one edgy piece, like my leather jacket, and pair it with more feminine items. The ruched tank dress, with it's vibrant color and ability to hug my curves and bump in just the right way, made me feel like one hot, yet still feminine, mama.

That's that. There are many ways you can wear Isabella Oliver's ruched tank dress...you just have to think out of the box a bit. If you have the dress already, please do share how you like to style it. We'd all love to hear! :)

deal vs. steal : ankle strap heels

Sep 13, 2013

I'm the gal that sees the $90 Topshop heels and thinks, "Yeh, ok...pretty good deal for a nice pair of pumps, but...I bet I can find them elsewhere for cheaper". I managed to do just that. The Payless pumps I found are significantly less ($29.99) and can be styled the same exact way as their more expensive counterpart. Basically, they're a steal!

Oooh, the outfits you can pull off this Fall with these beauts. Two of my favorites are above- cuffed denim and cropped trousers. Caaa-ute.

Deals are good, but steals are better. :)

Kimono: Styled 5 ways for Fall

Sep 11, 2013

1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5

K to the i to the m-o-n-o. I'm making one happen this Fall...asap. I have yet to find one that I love. Well, no that's not true. I have found plenty, but none that fit the budget. ;) I am on the constant look-out though! Believe you me.

Now, just because I don't have a kimono yet doesn't mean we can't talk about styling one...

Tip 1. LESS IS MORE
I love simple (no way!), so this black + neutrals look is spot-on in my book. Simply throw on dark denim, a white tee, printed kimono (or shawl) & booties...done.
Tip 2. DISTRESSED & DAINTY
If there's one thing Devon of Devon Rachel pulls off, it's feminine looks with that perfect bit of edge. The floral kimono softens the look of the distressed denim...and the tassel necklace?...it's the cherry on top.
Tip 3. DRESS IT
Pair a simple form-fitting dress or maxi dress with a fun, patterned kimono. It doesn't hurt to also add some booties.
Tip 4. GO TRIBAL
Gosh, I love Free People and their boho/tribal/hippie vibe. It's funny, because their style just started to grab at me. Maybe becoming a mama brought it out of me?...needing realistic and casual, yet trendy outfits these days. Hmm. Anyways...braid your hair, throw on some corduroys or wide leg denim and finish the look with a completely awesome tasseled kimono.
Tip 5. COZY UP
Wear a pretty kimono over your comfy clothes around the house (adding a mug of coffee or tea makes it even better!). If I'm at home...I'm in my pjs or lounge wear, so...a kimono would be that that perfect way to still feel dainty and at least half-dressed ;).

& that's that, my friends. Please do share if you wear a kimono already or are on the look-out for one like me...!

*9/11/1- never forgotten

converse chucks: styled 5 ways for Fall

Aug 26, 2013

1. | 2. | 3.? | 4. | 5.

Yeh, I can't stop wearing my chucks. Just can't. So...I looked around good ol' Pinterest for ideas on wearing them this coming Fall. I came across these loverly styling ideas and thought I'd share them with you!

Tip 1. DENIM SKIRT
The new transitional trend for end of Summer to Fall...the denim pencil skirt. Give it a casual, comfy look with those chucks.

Tip 2. LAYERED
Layer it all up with a tee, button-up and jacket. Layers and chucks = yes.

Tip 3. SWEATER DRESS
Uh. Cute. Why not? It's a great look for the in-between cool and chilly phase.

Tip 4. BLAZER
A bit of sophistication with the casual, cool look of chucks. Oh yah. It's the perfect thing for running around in this Fall.

Tip 5. MAXI DRESS
Yes...yes, yes & yes. Take chucks to another level of cute by wearing a simple maxi dress with a denim jacket over top. Done.

I'll be trying...oh...all of these.

Happy Monday!

Styling a Chambray Shirt Dress | 6 ways

Jun 6, 2013

I have this shirt dress from Old Navy...and I was skimming the internetz this morning to get more ideas for styling it. I feel like every time I throw it on it's always the same kind of deal- my Jacks and nothing else. I thought I'd share what I found in case you also have a denim shirt dress (or any shirt dress really) that you'd like to style a bit differently.

1) simply add some flat, strappy sandals - if they're colorful...even better. | image via
2) pair a long necklace with chunky arm candy...done! | image via
3) top off that head with a hat and slip on some slip-ons | image via.
4) booties! I was thinking everyone was crazy to keep going strong with the bootie look into Spring + Summer, but it has grown on me | image via.
5) if you're headed to the beach this Summer, make sure to pack your shirt dress...it doubles as a simple cover-up | image via.
6) belt it up. maybe add strappy wedges. gorg. | image via.

I'm thinking all of these looks are on-the-go and kid friendly as well- which is awesome. Muy importante para mi. Hoping this style guide was helpful for you!

styling for flight (with a toddler).

May 29, 2013

Comfort.

Comfort. Comfort. Comfort

I used to treat a flight as a chance to wear my best, the aisle being my runway or something...ha-ha. Not joking. I remember being 18 or so, on my way to England...wearing tight jeans, a blazer and pumps. It's a 9+ hour flight. What the h was I thinking? You'd never catch me doing that now. While I still like to look stylish and put together, I am happy to ditch anything (anything) that may be uncomfortable. The reason being... ...Toddler.

Moo is constantly moving, talking, eating and causing a scene...or at least some type of cute spectacle. ;) Not that I don't love my little circus monkey and her antics! I am just getting smarter about what I will wear for a  flight where she will be carrying on with her toddler ways.

So, Mads & I are getting ready to head back to my hometown to the visit the fam for a week (eek!). Here's my outfit for our flight, ladies. This mama is not ashamed with how comfy and simple this get-up is...
floral tee | maxi skirt | bag | fedora | accessories | jacks

Over-sized tee and stretchy maxi skirt. Check. Bag big enough for the babe's things and yours...also check. Minimal jewelry. Check. Cute fedora to top it all off...check, check & check.

Yeh, I wore cute shoes on my last flight with Moo. There's that whole having to take off your shoes in order to get through security thing. Forget that! Sandals all the way now. Trying to take off your shoes and hang on to your babe and bag simultaneously can be such a circus...ain't nobody got TIME FOR THAT. Sandals...check.

I found some other comfy flight outfit ideas for you on Pinterest....
silky long shorts + tee | slouchy top + flats | long flowy skirt + tee | tank, white denim + sandals

...& there you go. You don't have to sacrifice style while flying with a babe. Just remember that comfort is key! :)

Btw, you can follow along with our flight & trip via instagram @lifeinmod. It's going to be good. lol.

What to Wear to that Wedding, British style.

May 17, 2013

I've been thinking it's about time to bring a little Brit back to LiM...I've been missing it! So my friends at House of Fraser were kind enough to contribute a few Summer wedding looks- adding to my What to Wear to That Wedding post. They're British through and through...and that's why I love them. See why here, here & here :). I made one request and that was that they include a hat or at least a fascinator, as they like to call them, with one of the outfits- I am set on making the English hat a "thing" on this side of the pond. One day! One day. Here you go then...

suit jacket/shorts/white pumps

I'm diggin' the short suit look- maybe not what Kate Middleton would wear, but definitely still refined and...British...which is what is important here ;). If you'd like to get more ideas for creating a Brit wedding look, head on over to the House of Fraser blog.

TGIF.

Cheers, loves.

Style it: GAP 1969 Original Fit Jeans

May 1, 2013

I thought I'd fall in love with the GAP boyfriend jeans...was pretty sure I would actually. After seeing them on ITCWC, Halle Berry, & Atlantic Pacific...I was absolutely certain I couldn't go wrong with a pair.

Errhmmm. Nope. Not so.

I tried them on and instantly knew it was a big fat no. I felt like I could stuff two watermelons down each pant leg and no one would know the difference. I even went down a size!...and they still looked off. So that was the end of my boyfriend jean fantasies. Ha.

Now, the Original fit...perfect. There's just enough of a relaxed look to them (w/o being too baggy), the style proves to be versatile and the length is spot on- even for this tall girl.

So...if the boyfriend jeans don't end up being your cup of tea, I suggest you try Original fit. I think you'll be pleased! :)

What to wear to that wedding.

Apr 18, 2013

Something fun, unique...epic.

It's easy to walk into say J.Crew or Ann Taylor and find something wedding-worthy, but that tends to mean  super classic styles, every-one's-wearing-it and dare I say "safe"? You want to look hot, but not too hot (no white, bold red, high slits, short skirts, yada yada). No one can outshine the bride! It's one of those unspoken rules that you just follow.

Still...while you definitely don't want to waltz in looking like a hoochy mama to your best friend from high school's wedding...you should take the opp to make a major style statement.

I put together a few trendy, fun wedding outfit ideas that maybe you hadn't thought of.Wait! Get ready for it.... It's going to blow your J.Crew relaxed chinos off. Yeh, I said it.

image via.

This outfit has outdoor wedding written all over it. It's comfortable enough for the great outdoors, yet still dressy because of the maxi style + heels- the only thing I'd change in order for it to be more wedding appropriate is the top...go for a more structured one. If it's more of a backyard type setting, simply switch those heels out with dressy flats!

SHOP IT:
back zip tee, LOFT
pleated maxi, Piperlime
high heel silver sandal w/ ankle strap (very similar to pic), Zara
silver flats, Enzo Angiolini

image via.

Emulating Kate Middleton is never a bad idea...& yes, this look is in fact via J.Crew. What? Ha-ha. So...it's pretty much impossible to escape from the JCrizz (Kallah, I stole your word)! No, but really gals..I wanted to show how it can be taken from plain classic to cool - just by adding the bauble and metallic shoes.

SHOP IT:
BaubleBar mint ray bib
J.Crew vintage striped tee
River Island floral pencil skirt
ASOS Hometown heal

Ok- I am excited about this one. If you dare to wear a smashing one-piece jumpsuit to a wedding...I'll fly to wherever you live, make you a cake and sing you a song. Not even joking. This little number would be spot on for an evening wedding...a bit more formal. If you just can't bring yourself to do the whole one-piece thing, here's a black maxi that will have the same type of effect (be careful- it's got a bit of a slit;)...ooorrr if you've got those lovely lady lumps, called curves...here is a nice option as well. Whichever one you choose,  adding a neon clutch is a definite yes.

SHOP IT:
ASOS pleat bust jumpsuit
ASOS Hollywood heeled sandals
ZARA neon box clutch

& that's that. My master plan was to put together more ideas for you, but HA. We are going on a wedding road trip tomorrow a.m., I'm no where near done packing, ice cream with the husband is calling...and I am le tired. So le tired.

I'd still love to hear if you'd like to see different types of wedding outfits put together and I will make it happen asap :).

Happy weekend!

style it: a graphic tee / 3 ways

Apr 10, 2013

Okay. So let me just say how much I love it when I randomly come across a strikingly stylish mama on the internetzz. It makes me want to share it with all of you, hence the Style it series! Let me introduce you to Blakely, everyone. You will soon see how awesome she is at keeping it fabulous with a sweet babe on her hip. So I asked her to style a graphic tee and she came up with 3 different ways to style one...in love

I'll let you take it from here, Blakely :).

graphic tee take #1:

My favorite blush pink/grayish graphic tee. I love this tee, it is the most light weight and versatile tee. It can be dressed up or down with the sequin beading. I feel like it's best to keep it simple with the sequins, so I didn't pair it with too much jewelry. Just the simple gray Swarovski bracelet (my little nephew gave it to me so it's special) . I am obsessed with the polka dot pants and think they are the perfect pair for graphic tees. I think this might be my favorite graphic tee styling of all three. Just so fun and full of patterns, but still not too much.

Shirt- J.Crew, similar
Pants- Forever 21, similar
Nude flats- Forever21, similar

graphic tee take #2:

I love this Rolling Stones graphic tee because it is so bright and bold, it is an over-sized tee so you can wear it  a lot of different ways. I was excited to tuck it into the striped pencil skirt for a more 'fancy' look on the tee. I love the combo of edgy tees with a skirt and girly heels. Plus- I LOOVE the Rolling Stones ha!  The sweater on top gives it a more conservative feel.

graphic tee take #3:

This is a simple, comfy, classic way to wear a graphic tee. Slouchy, boyfriend jeans, comfy sneakers and all. I loved the look of the blue hues with the white feather necklace. It was a simple way to spice up the tee.
